Trying to work out when all the different open days are can sometimes be a challenge. Here I give you all the dates we know for Open Days so far for 2027 and the specific links for each institution to make this part of the process a bit easier!

An open day is a perfect time for you to visit an institution and see if it could be the right place for you to apply to/go to. You can get an idea of the vibe, meet some of the students and visit the city. It's a great day out and if you can go to a few, they can help make decisions if you get an offer, much easier.

Here, I've given you all the dates we know so far and will update this timetable as we find out more dates.

It can be overwhelming looking at all the different open days there are and which days they are on - so here's a table of everything you need to know to make this easier! You can add these dates into my free spreadsheet to help you compare each conservatoire linked here

I will update this as time goes on but in the meantime, have a read of my article: How to do you choose the right conservatoire to apply for? to help you look at where to apply.

My main advice for attending an open day is to take a notebook with you & at the end of every open day on the way home, make a note of how you are feeling. It doesn't have to be long and could be a simple reflection from the day on how you're feeling and what you enjoyed or didn't enjoy about the institution.

This is because, as time passes, we often can forget how something made us feel and our memories can change over time. In 2007, Kensinger, Garoff-Eaton, & Schacter's research showed that negative items also are more likely to be remembered with visual detail than are positive items. So by writing down this small reflection, when you look back in a couple of months, it could help you more accurately work out how you actually felt at the time on the open day.

Consider questions like:

-  Did you enjoy the vibe?

-  Did you like the head of department and the teachers?

-  What about the conservatoire itself?

-  Could you see yourself living happily in that city?

But, as I also said in my article: 'How do you choose the right conservatoire to apply for?':

at the end of the day, the most important thing is to try and enjoy these new experiences and the process of meeting new people. If nothing else, try and be yourself, trust your instincts and ultimately make the decision that feels right for you (and not anybody else!). If worst comes to worse, transferring to a different conservatoire or even changing paths completely is always an option!
